“God Owes No Explanation”

Habakkuk 1:1-17, Habakkuk 2:1-20

1) Habakkuk asks God—Why do you tolerate wicked people?  Habakkuk 1:1-4

2) God says—I’m raising up Babylon to deal with the wickedness.  Habakkuk 1:5-11

3) Habakkuk says—the Babylonians are worse than we are.  Why would you let them punish us?                  

    Habakkuk 1:12-17, Habakkuk 2:1


4) God says—don’t worry. Babylon will be punished later.

     But God never directly answers Habakkuk’s question.
